Description:
At 1047 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Blanton Flats to Threelinks to near Stanford.
Movement was southeast at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Irvine, Mount Vernon, Beattyville, McKee, Booneville, Boone,
Fincastle, Ravenna, Turin, Donaro, Travellers Rest, Bummer,
Southfork, Cowcreek, Shop Branch, Fogertown, Tyner, Privett,
Earnestville, and Spiro.
THIS INCLUDES Interstate 75 in east central Kentucky between mile
markers 48 and 72.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 200 AM EDT for
south central, southeastern and east central Kentucky.
