Description:
At 559 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Bethel, or 9 miles northwest of Owingsville,
moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Mount Sterling, Morehead, West Liberty, Flemingsburg, Owingsville,
Sandy Hook, Frenchburg, Marshall, Henry, Jeffersonville, Camargo,
Wellington, Sharpsburg, Salt Lick, Fairview, Zag, Pecks Ridge, Moon,
Florress, and Cornwell.
THIS INCLUDES Interstate 64 in eastern Kentucky between mile markers
105 and 148.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM EDT for southeastern,
northeastern and east central Kentucky.
