Description:
At 540 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Sideview, or 8 miles northwest of Mount Sterling,
moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Mount Sterling, Owingsville, Marshall, Jeffersonville, Camargo,
Sharpsburg, Salt Lick, Levee, Preston, Reynoldsville, Sideview,
Peasticks, Walkers Crossing, Olympia Springs, Flat Creek, Coons
Station, Stepstone, Bourbon Furnace, Gatewoods Station, and Prewitt.
Instruction:
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1100 AM EDT for east central
Kentucky.
