Description:
At 1206 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from
over Canalou to near New Madrid, or along a line from 11 miles
southwest of Sikeston to near New Madrid, moving northeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Sikeston, New Madrid, Lilbourn, Hunter-Dawson State Historic Site,
Matthews, Marston, Howardville, Canalou, Farrenburg, Catron and
North Lilbourn.
Instruction:
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
