Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...A portion of east central Kentucky, including the
following county, Rowan.
* WHEN...Until 1245 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1123 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated that showers were
weakening across the area; however excessive runoff will
continue to cause minor flooding of small streams, roads, and
roadside culverts. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen
in the hardest hits areas.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected
over the area between 11:30 AM and 12:30 PM.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Morehead, Munson, Hays Crossing, Hilda and Cranston.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
