Description:
* WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Northeastern Clay County in north central Kansas...
Southwestern Washington County in north central Kansas...
Northwestern Riley County in northeastern Kansas...
* WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 743 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding.
Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Clifton, Palmer and Vining.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
