Description:
At 131 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Shelby, or 9
miles southwest of Harlan, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include...
Harlan, Avoca, Walnut, Shelby, Tennant, Prairie Rose State Park,
Nishna Bend Recreation Area, Elk Horn Creek Recreation Area, and
Jacksonville.
This includes Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 34 and 48.
Instruction:
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
