Linn County in east central Iowa... * Until 745 AM CDT. * At 643 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from near Atkins to near Williamsburg to near Montezuma, moving east at 60 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Trained weather spotters. Several measured wind gusts between 60 to 70 mph in Benton and Iowa Counties. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings. * Locations impacted include... Cedar Rapids, Iowa City, Washington, West Branch, Sigourney, Marion, Coralville, North Liberty, Hiawatha, Mount Vernon, Robins, Center Point, Kalona, Lisbon, Fairfax, Solon, Tiffin, Ely, Walford, and Wellman.
