Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S affecting Scott and Clinton
Counties.
* WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is
forecast. This approaches the flood of record.
* WHERE...Wapsipinicon River near De Witt 4S.
* WHEN...Until Tuesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS...At 12.0 feet, Overbank flooding occurs. Water affects
residences along the river between Wheatland and Calamus. Water
affects businesses along the river near Calamus.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 6:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 11.9 feet and falling.
- Forecast...The river will fall below flood stage tomorrow
morning and continue falling to 10.2 feet early Monday
morning. It will then rise to flood stage Tuesday morning
then fall below flood stage Tuesday evening.
- Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
Instruction:
Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
The next statement will be issued by Sunday evening at 645 PM CDT.
