Description:
At 948 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Cherry Valley to near Malta to near Paw Paw,
moving southeast at 55 mph. This line of storms has a history of
producing wind damage.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
DeKalb, Sycamore, Genoa, Lake Holiday, Cortland, Somonauk,
Waterman, Kingston, Leland, Sandwich, Sheridan, Hinckley and Maple
Park.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
Prepare immediately for damaging winds and deadly cloud to ground
lightning. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure. Stay away from
windows.
