Description:
At 926 AM CDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from near Harmon to near Kasbeer to near Sheffield, moving
east at 50 mph.
HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE...Radar indicated. Automated weather station measured a 58
mph wind gust near Atkinson At 909 AM.
IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include...
Princeton, Spring Valley, DePue, Walnut, Ladd, Wyanet, Sheffield, La
Moille, Dalzell, Buda, Ohio, Cherry, Yorktown, Malden, Manlius,
Seatonville, Mineral, Arlington, Dover, and Hollowayville.
This also includes Hennepin Canal State Trail and Mautino State Fish
& Wildlife Area.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 80 in Illinois between mile markers 36 and 73.
Interstate 180 between mile markers 8 and 13.
Instruction:
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
sturdy building.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
