...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Indiana...Illinois... East Fork White River at Seymour. Wabash River at Terre Haute. ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana... Illinois... Wabash River at Montezuma...and at Hutsonville down to Riverton. .Recent thunderstorms produced heavy rainfall up to two to four inches across central Indiana. Minor flooding will begin on middle portions of the Wabash River today...at on the East Fork White River at Seymour this evening. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Wabash River at Riverton. * WHEN...From this evening to early Wednesday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Extensive lowland flooding is in progress. High water surrounds many river cabins. Access to most river cabins is by boat only. Levees begin to protect farmland. Extensive flooding of Leaverton Park occurs in Palestine, Illinois. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 5:00 AM EDT Thursday /4:00 AM CDT Thursday/ the stage was 12.1 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage this evening to a crest of 17.3 feet Monday morning. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. To escape rising water, take the shortest path to higher ground. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
