...HIGH SURF ADVISORY FOR SOUTH AND EAST FACING SHORES THROUGH TONIGHT... .The current long-period south swell will hold steady at advisory levels this morning, then begin a slow decline late this afternoon through the end of the week. Building east swell from Hurricane Fausto expected to begin impacting all exposed east facing shores today. East shore surf will gradually increase as Fausto moves closer to Hawaii, and decline Wednesday as the system passes to the west. * WHAT...Large breaking waves of 10 to 14 feet. * WHERE...East facing shores of Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Maui, and Big Island. * WHEN...Until 6 PM HST Wednesday. * IMPACTS...Moderate. Strong breaking waves and strong currents will make swimming dangerous.

Heed all advice from ocean safety officials. When in doubt, don't go out.
