Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Liberty County in southeastern Georgia...
* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 754 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen across the Fort Stewart and Hinesville areas. At 745 PM, a
member of the public reported some flooding on Flemington Village
Blvd. Rainfall rates over Screven Fork may become excessive,
leading to minor flooding by 815 PM.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Hinesville, Fort Stewart, McIntosh, Walthourville, Midway,
Riceboro, Flemington, Allenhurst, Gumbranch and Liberty Regional
Medical Center.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
