Description:
At 218 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near Labelle to 8 miles northwest of Big
Corkscrew Island to near Vineyards. These storms were nearly
stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Fort Myers, Bonita Springs, Lehigh Acres, San Carlos Park, East
Dunbar, Pine Manor, Charleston Park, Olga, Southwest Florida Airport,
Buckingham, Villas, Three Oaks, Cypress Lake, McGregor, Whiskey
Creek, Fort Myers Shores, Page Park, Page Field Airport, Alva, and
Fort Myers Villas.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
