Description:
At 547 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from near The Village of Briar Meadow to 6 miles
north of Mascotte. These storms were nearly stationary.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Leesburg, Lady Lake, Mascotte, The Villages, and Fruitland Park.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Seek safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
