Description:
The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red
Flag Warning below 9000 feet for gusty winds, low relative
humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from noon to 10 PM MDT
Saturday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 295 Southwest
Colorado Upper East Forecast Area below 9000 feet.
* TIMING...From noon to 10 PM MDT Saturday.
* WINDS...Southwest 5 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 12 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fire that develops will catch and spread
quickly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
Instruction:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
