The National Weather Service in Pueblo has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
South Central Fremont County in central Colorado...
North Central Custer County in southeastern Colorado...
* Until 815 PM MDT.
* At 511 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain
has fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour.
Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the
warned area. This area received heavy rainfall yesterday. Flash
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, roadways, as
well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Texas Creek, Cotopaxi and Hillside.
The heaviest rain is falling over the Texas Creek drainages.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
