Description:
At 142 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Victor, or 16 miles west of Colorado Springs, moving northeast at 5
mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, half inch hail and torrential
rainfall.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible. Heavy rainfall could cause ponding of water on
paved road surfaces, minor washouts on dirt roads, and
quick runoff causing high flows in area creeks, streams and
normally dry washouts.
Locations impacted include...
Cripple Creek, Victor, and Pikes Peak.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
