Description: 
At 1249 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Alpine, or 40 miles east of Gunnison, moving east at 5 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph, brief pea size hail, and torrential rainfall. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Heavy rainfall could cause ponding of water on roadways, minor washouts on dirt roads, and quick runoff causing high flows in area creeks, streams and normally dry washouts. This storm will remain over mainly rural areas of central Chaffee County.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
