Description:
At 158 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles southwest of Montrose, moving northeast at 15 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and penny size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation and
outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include...
Montrose.
This includes the following highways...
U.S. Highway 550 in Colorado between mile markers 123 and 130.
U.S. Highway 50 in Colorado between mile markers 84 and 97.
Colorado 90 between mile markers 82 and 89.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
