Description:
At 427 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
northwestern Colorado Springs, moving northeast at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph, locally heavy rainfall, and brief
pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Heavy rainfall could cause rapid
runoff with ponding of water on roadways.
Locations impacted include...
Northwestern Colorado Springs, Monument, Air Force Academy, Manitou
Springs, Gleneagle, and Cascade.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
