Description:
* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of southwest Colorado, including the following
county, Hinsdale.
* WHEN...Until 715 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 407 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
flooding. At least between 0.4 and 0.8 inches of rain have
fallen.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lake City and areas along Highway 149 from Lake City to
Slumgullion Pass and Spring Creek Pass.

Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Low water crossings in mountainous terrain can become dangerous in
heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate
route.
