Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...Southwestern Logan County in northeastern Colorado...
* WHEN...Until 630 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 514 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated additional rain due to another round of thunderstorms
moving into the area. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Sterling, Logan Corners and Atwood.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, highways and underpasses. Additionally, country
roads, farmlands along the banks of creeks, and other low lying areas
are subject to flooding.
