Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Southeastern Larimer County in north central Colorado...
* WHEN...Until 945 PM MDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Debris flows causing minor flooding possible over the Alexander
Mountain burn area and portions of Buckhorn Creek within the
Cameron Peak burn area.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 639 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area.
Between 0.3 and 0.6 inches of rain have fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Sheep Creek, Redstone Creek, Big Thompson River, Buckhorn Creek,
Dry Creek, North Fork Fish Creek and Cedar Creek.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Cedar Cove.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Heavy Rainfall will cause minor flooding of creeks and streams, roads
and roadside culverts in the affected part of the Cameron Peak and
Alexander Mountain burn areas. The heavy rains could also trigger
rock slides or debris flows.
