At 956 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Beckwourth, moving north at 35 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Beckwourth, Vinton, Iron Horse, Delleker, Lake Davis, Frenchman Lake, Calpine, Grizzly Campground, Whitehawk, Valley Ranch, Mohawk Vista, Portola, Loyalton, Ca 49 At Sierra-Plumas Co Line, Ca 89 At Sierra-Plumas Co Line, Big Cove Campground, Lightning Tree Campground, Chilcoot Campground, Grasshopper Flat Campground, and Frenchman Campground.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. Persons in campgrounds should consider seeking sturdy shelter until this storm passes.
