Description:
At 435 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Meeman Shelby Forest State Park, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Bartlett, Germantown, West Memphis, Marion, Millington, Meeman Shelby
Forest State Park, Cordova, Memphis, Sunset, Ellendale, Downtown
Memphis, Frayser, Midtown Memphis, Mound City, Griffin Corner,
Gammon, Woodstock, Wyandoke, St Clair, and Harvard.
This includes the following highways...
Interstate 40 in Arkansas between mile markers 277 and 284.
Interstate 40 in Tennessee between mile markers 1 and 16.
Interstate 240 between mile markers 12 and 15, and between mile
markers 27 and 30.
Interstate 55 in Arkansas between mile markers 1 and 11.
Interstate 55 in Tennessee between mile markers 9 and 12.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
