The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for...
Apache County in northeastern Arizona...
* Until midnight MDT.
* At 858 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Between 0.75 and 1.5 inches of
rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 0.75
inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing
or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and
underpasses.

Chinle, Canyon De Chelly National Monument, Del Muerto, Chinle
Municipal Airport, Mummy Cave Overlook, Tsaile and White Clay.
This includes Highway 191 between mile markers 446 and 449.

Cottonwood Campground, Tsegi Overlook, Junction Overlook, White House
Overlook, Antelope House Overlook, Face Rock Overlook and Spider Rock

Chinle Wash, Wheatfields Creek, Whiskey Creek, Tse Deeshzhaai Wash,
Sheep Dip Creek, Agua Sal Creek, Nazlini Wash, Tiis Ndiitsooi Wash,
Muerto, Canyon del, Coyote Wash, Cottonwood Wash and Black Rock
Canyon.
Instruction:
Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will become
muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could become
flooded as well.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
