Description:
At 437 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near Winterboro to
Parkdale. Movement was south at 5 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Sylacauga, Childersburg, Oak Grove, Bon Air, Sycamore, Winterboro,
Alpine, Cleveland Crossroads, Overbrook, Hollins, Roselle, and
Mignon.
This includes US Highway 280 between mile markers 42 and 46.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
