At 802 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Shopton, or 9 miles west of Union Springs, moving east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Troy, Union Springs, Brundidge, Clio, Midway, Meadville, Clayton, Louisville, Banks, Blue Springs, Tyler Crossroads, Pickett, Dublin, Beans Crossroads, Guerryton, Shopton, Sellers, Ramer, Doster, and Barbour County Public Lake Dam.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.
