Description:
Heavy rainfall is being produced from the remnants of Arthur across
western Alabama this morning. Stream gages around Livingston are
showing some quick responses due to the slow movement of this
system. Rainfall will continue for the next several hours.
* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following
counties, Greene and Sumter.
* WHEN...Until 1215 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Some low-water crossings may become impassable. River or stream
flows are elevated. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is
occurring or is imminent.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 908 AM CDT, gage reports indicated heavy rain. This will
cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 1.5
inches of rain have fallen.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
- Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Livingston, Eutaw, York, Cuba, Boligee, Union, Gainesville,
Epes, Emelle, The University Of West Alabama, Bluffport,
Boyd, Tishabee, Coatopa, Dug Hill, Allison, New West Greene,
West Greene, Panola and Kinterbish.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
