* Until 700 PM MDT.
* At 415 PM MDT, the river gauge on the Escalante River at Escalante
indicated a second flood wave near 1160 cfs that will be surging
down the Escalante River. The Flash Flood Warning has been extended
until 700 PM MDT. Up to 1.25 inches of rain has fallen primarily
near the town of Escalante. Flash flooding is already occurring.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of the Escalante River.

The Escalante River from near the town of Escalante to the terminus
at Lake Powell.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain. Dry
washes, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
