...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 415 PM CDT THIS
AFTERNOON FOR STONE COUNTY...
At 1114 AM CDT, emergency management reported significant to major
flooding across the county with several water rescues. Between 6 and
10 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 3 to 6
inches are likely in the warned area. This will result in major and
life threatening flash flooding.
FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Stone County. This is a PARTICULARLY
DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding.
SOURCE...Emergency management reported.
IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER
GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of low water
crossings, small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways,
streets and underpasses.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Wiggins, Perkinston, McHenry, Ten Mile, Big Level, Perry, Whites
Crossing, Bond, Texas and Ramsey Springs.
Instruction:
Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
