West Central Pitkin County in west central Colorado... * Until 330 PM MDT. * At 1230 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain near Redstone, CO. Between 0.3 and 0.8 inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3 inches in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Along Highway 133 and Redstone, CO. This includes the following streams and drainages... Avalanche Creek, Coal Creek and Crystal River.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Highway 133 is prone to rockslides and mudslides in heavy rain. Stay alert for rocks and debris on roads, and avoid driving on flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
