Southeastern San Saba County in west central Texas... * Until 200 AM CDT. * At 1158 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 6 inches of rain have fallen with heavy rainfall from storms expected to continue. Low water crossings along County Road 440 south of Bend along Cherokee Creek are flooded and impassable, with Cherokee Creek continuing to climb. Residents along Cherokee Creek should be prepared for rapidly rising flood waters. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Cherokee, Chappel and Bend. This includes the following Low Water Crossings... CR 424 crossing Rough Creek and County Road 432 crossing Cherokee Creek.
