The Blue 2 Scar burn scar in...
South Central Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
* Until 245 PM MDT.
* At 1140 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain over the Blue 2 Scar Burn Scar and the Nogal Arroyo. Up
to 1.4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up
to 0.75 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
Excessive rainfall over the burn scar will impact the Rio Bonito. The
debris flow can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and other loose
materials.
HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
flash flooding in and around the Blue 2 Scar Burn Scar.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of areas in and around the
Blue 2 Scar Burn Scar, and also in the Nogal Arroyo.
* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Bonito Lake and Nogal.
This includes Highway 380 between Mile Markers 73 and 75.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
