Description: 
At 330 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Montgomery, or 14 miles northwest of Fayetteville, moving east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Summersville, Montgomery, Ansted, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Hawks Nest State Park, Powellton, Handley, Bickmore, Swiss, Indore, Bentree, Kesslers Cross Lanes, Drennan, and Pond Gap. This includes the following highways... West Virginia Turnpike near mile marker 74. Route 19 between mile markers 25 and 36, and between mile markers 39 and 40.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause elevated levels on small creeks and streams, and ponding of water in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
