Description: 
At 306 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Marmet, or 10 miles south of Charleston, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Charleston, Clay, Montgomery, Chesapeake, Marmet, Ansted, Belle, Cedar Grove, East Bank, Glasgow, Smithers, Gauley Bridge, Pratt, Powellton, Glen, Hawks Nest State Park, Coal Fork, Handley, Seth, and Dawes. This includes the following highways... Interstate 77 in West Virginia between mile markers 96 and 97. West Virginia Turnpike between mile markers 71 and 95.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio stations and available television stations for additional information and possible warnings from the National Weather Service. Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will ponding of water in urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses, as well as other poor drainage areas and low lying spots.
