Description: 
At 1046 AM EDT, Doppler radar and rain gages in the area indicated between 1.5 and 2 inches of rain fell this morning in a short period of time. High water was reported earlier along Harbour Lane in Hurricane and along Route 34 in Teays Valley near Liberty Square. While the threat for heavy rainfall has ended, local runoff will continue to result in areas of high water, particularly near creeks and streams. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Flash flooding of creeks and streams. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hurricane, Poca and Teays Valley. Strong rises are occurring on Hurricane Creek which may result in flooding of adjacent areas that typically experience high water. This would include portions of Harbour Lane in Hurricane.
Instruction: 
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
