Warm temperatures will melt snowpack and increase river flows. * WHAT...Flooding caused by snowmelt is possible. * WHERE...A portion of North Central Washington, including the following counties, Chelan and Okanogan. * WHEN...From late tonight until further notice. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. When the Stehekin River gauge hits 19.3 feet, water breaches the river bank. At 20 feet, water inundates some properties and overtops the temporary corduroy bridge. Company Creek Road begins to flood in places at the northern end and Battalion Creek culverts are beginning to be overtopped. At 20.5 feet, water begins to damage Wood Road. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - The Stehekin River at Stehekin is forecast to rise above Minor Flood Stage (20.5 ft) late tonight and remain above Minor Flood Stage through at least next weekend. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
