Northeastern Whitman County in eastern Washington... * Until 1115 PM PDT. * At 1008 PM PDT, a trained spotter reported localized blowing dust around Oakesdale. Localized visibility was between 1/4 and 1/2 mile in spots. HAZARD...Less than one half mile visibility with strong wind in excess of 30 mph. SOURCE...Trained spotter. IMPACT...Hazardous travel. * This includes U.S. Highway 195 in Washington between mile markers 53 and 62. Locations impacted include... Oakesdale, Belmont, Thornton, and Pine City.

Blowing dust brings reduced visibility, leading to dangerous driving conditions. If driving, avoid blowing dust if possible. If caught in dense blowing dust, pull off the road, turn off your lights and keep your foot off the brake.
