At 339 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near Scottsburg, or near South Boston, moving southeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down small trees and blow around unsecured objects. Wind impacting handling of high profile vehicles. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Buffalo Springs around 350 PM EDT. Clarksville around 405 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Nelson, Richardson, Buffalo Junction, John H Kerr Dam, Finchley, Eppes Fork, John H Kerr Reservoir, and Skipwith.
Instruction: 
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle. If on or near Kerr Reservoir, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
