Description:
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE...Portions of south central and west central Virginia,
including the following counties and independent city, in south
central Virginia, Bedford. In west central Virginia, City of
Roanoke and Roanoke.
* WHEN...Until 630 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 242 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
indicated heavy rain due to slow-moving thunderstorms. Minor
flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the
advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have
fallen.
- This includes the following streams and drainages...
Enochs Creek, Bore Auger Creek, Back Creek, Gum Spring Branch
and Kates Creek.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected mainly
in southwestern portions of Bedford County. This additional
rain will result in minor flooding.
