At 416 PM CDT, a confirmed tornado was located over Kalona, or 12 miles north of Washington, moving northeast at 40 mph. HAZARD...Damaging tornado and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Weather spotters confirmed tornado. At 415 PM CDT, multiple reports from trained spotters of a tornado south of Kalona. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. This tornado will be near... Iowa City, Riverside, Hills, River Junction, Sharon Center, Hills Access, and Johnson County Fairgrounds around 420 PM CDT. Lone Tree around 425 PM CDT.
