Washington County in south central Illinois... * Until 645 PM CDT. * At 554 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing a tornado was located 5 miles northeast of New Athens, or 9 miles southeast of Freeburg, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Tornado. SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation. IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed. Damage to roofs, windows and vehicles will occur. Tree damage is likely. * Locations impacted include... Johannisburg, Lively Grove, New Memphis, Damiansville, Oakdale, Okawville, Addieville, Bartelso, Covington, Posen, Nashville, Beaucoup, Hoyleton, Ashley, Hoffman, Richview, Irvington, Wamac and Shattuc. This includes Interstate 64 in Illinois between exits 34 and 61.
