Description:
At 1250 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over Ransom Canyon, or 6 miles north of Slaton, moving
northwest at 25 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include...
Lubbock, Slaton, Idalou, Ransom Canyon, Lubbock International
Airport, Texas Tech University, Downtown Lubbock, Lubbock South
Plains Mall, New Deal, Buffalo Springs, and Lubbock Science Spectrum.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
