Description:
At 1008 PM CDT, trained weather spotters reported flooding across
the warned area. Between 2 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
flooding is already occurring and several inches of water have been
reported on roadways, especially in the town of Runaway Bay. Low
water crossings are likely impassable.
HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE...Trained spotters reported.
IMPACT...Flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low lying areas.
Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Decatur, Bridgeport, Chico, Paradise, Lake Bridgeport, Runaway
Bay, Cundiff, Balsora, Wizard Wells, Crafton and Cottondale.
Instruction:
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
