Description: 
The National Weather Service in Amarillo has issued a Red Flag Warning for dry and breezy conditions, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM CDT Thursday. A Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch for dry and windy conditions is in effect from Friday afternoon through Friday evening. * WINDS...For Warning: Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph. For Watch: Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...For Warning: As low as 5 percent. For Watch: As low as 8 percent. * TEMPERATURES...In the 80s. * IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will have the potential to spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended. * SEVERITY... FUELS (ERC)...70th-89th percentile...4 (out of 5). WEATHER...Critical...2 (out of 5). FIRE ENVIRONMENT...6 (out of 10).

A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now...or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures will create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread. Avoid activities that promote open flames and sparks. A Fire Weather Watch means that the potential for critical fire weather conditions exists. Listen for later forecasts and possible red flag warnings.
