At 1059 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a line of strong thunderstorms extending from 8 miles north of Harleyville to over Ritter, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Summerville, Walterboro, Saint George, Givhans Ferry State Park, Dorchester, Hollywood, Ravenel and Ridgeville. This includes the following highways... I-26 between mile markers 171 and 201. I-95 in South Carolina between mile markers 49 and 64...and between mile markers 69 and 85.

If on or near Moultrie, get out of the water and move indoors or inside a vehicle. Remember, lightning can strike out to 10 miles from the parent thunderstorm. If you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Move to safe shelter now! Do not be caught on the water in a thunderstorm.
