Description:
At 826 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Proctorville, moving east at 35 mph.
HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE...Radar indicated.
IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include...
Huntington, Chesapeake, Proctorville, Barboursville, Milton, Ona,
Culloden, Crown City, Athalia, Lavalette, Scottown, Ashton, Pea
Ridge, and Green Bottom.
This includes Interstate 64 in West Virginia between mile markers 8
and 31.
Instruction:
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
